So you have the appointment set and you can’t wait for the day to get here, but now you need to know some pointers regarding preparing for your massage. No matter what type of massage you will receive, the treatment will be a wonderful, relaxing experience. There are things you can do, or not do, before the massage to achieve the absolute best results possible: To start off with, avoid consuming alcohol the day of your massage. The purpose of any massage is to reduce the level of toxins in your body. You will not want to voluntarily put toxins, e.g. the alcohol, in your body on the day of your treatment. Also, avoid or cut back on your intake of caffeine on the day of your appointment. Caffeine affects your nervous system which is a main focal point of your massage. Another important step to take while preparing is to eat lightly on the day of your massage. Do not come to your appointment too full. It is important that you make sure you eat just the right amount for your individual needs because an overly full stomach will hurt to lie down on and an empty stomach will cause your mind to focus on your body’s hunger, not the tranquility of the massage. On the morning of your massage you should use less makeup, perfume, or other applications on your skin and hair than usual when getting ready.
Listen to these simple steps and ensure that you will receive the maximum benefit from your long awaited day.
